BLUE ISLAND, Ill. — The big Mega Millions winner bought the ticket in Illinois.

The jackpot was $260 million.

The winning ticket was bought at Super Mercado Imelda in Blue Island.

The owners of the store, Adan and Dolores Diaz will receive $500,000 for selling the winning ticket.

The call from lottery officials came in at 7:30 Wednesday morning, telling them the winning ticket came from their store.

The store owners aren’t sure what they will do with their share of the winnings.

The winner hasn’t come forward.

Fourteen other people matched five numbers and won a million dollars.

The Mega Millions numbers for Tuesday were: 2-9-11-22-23

The gold Mega Ball was 12 and the Megaplier was 4.

Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim the prize.

The Blue Island ticket is the second Mega Millions win in Illinois so far this year. A Naperville resident won a $270 million Mega Millions jackpot in January with a ticket bought in Glendale Heights.
