Yes, they found a way to make the poncho liner even better! The latest contract for the USMC calls for the addition of a zipper that will zip it together to form a real sleeping bag, so you can actually sleep in it without sliding out or waking up and finding your legs out from under the cover. These are real USMC issue poncho liners, made in the USA, with the super strong zipper added. It still unzips and lays flap just like a poncho liner, still has the same ties to tie it inside a poncho, still made from the great ultra-comfortable material.
These Czech Military surplus mess kits are great. They have 3 pieces- 2 with handles that can be used as pots or frying pans, plus the lid that can serve as a dinner plate, mixing stand or warming tray by the fire. It all nests and locks together in a compact package as well, with room inside for carrying food, seasonings or anything else you may need!
