The 2015 outdoor portion of the track & field season came to a close today at the NCAA Division III championships at St. Lawrence University. The Red Dragons had nine qualifiers combined between the men and women's teams and a total of seven individuals competed during the three-day event. Overall the men finished 10
th with 21 points while the women did not register a point.

Today, Oneonta added a pair of All-Americans to its National Championship earned yesterday by senior
Patrick Weinert (Schenevus/Schenevus) in the hammer throw. Senior
Rob Farrell (Carmel/Mahopac) and junior
Joe Carr (Burnt Hills/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) finished in the top-8 of their respective events to bring home some hardware.

Farrell finished fourth overall in the 400-meter hurdles to earn his first All-American honor in his final competition. Farrell lowered the school record he set a few weeks ago in the event to 52.05.

Carr, who competed in both the 200 and 400-meter events, finished third in the former to earn the fifth All-American honor of his career that includes a National title as part of the 400-meter relay in 2013. This is the third straight year that Carr has earned All-American honors in the 200. This year was his best finish at the national championships, as he previously finished eighth (2013) and seventh (2014).

Other individuals who competed today were seniors
J.D. Roth (Pearl River/Nanuet) and
Sean Mullen (East Nassau/Averill Park). Roth finished 14
th in the shot put, recording a mark of 15.69m (51' 5 ¾"). Mullen was 19
th in the triple jump with a distance of 13.91m (45' 7 ¾").

On the women's side, sophomore
Rachael Shine (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) did not compete this weekend due to a death in her family. Junior Kaitlin Kieser finished 15
th in the long jump with a distance of 5.37m (17' 7 ½"). Sophomore
Alyssa Drapeau (Glenville/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) ran a time of 37:15.78 in finishing 15
th in the 10K. Both Drapeau and Kieser were making their first appearances at the national championships.

The final competitor for Oneonta was junior
Jake Alviene (East Greenbush/Columbia), who qualified in the 110-meter high hurdles. Alviene, who was making his sixth straight NCAA appearance, did not start due to an injury.
