Additional Information

If you have never attended an Adobe Connect meeting before, please test your connection prior to the meeting: https://uwccer.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm.

We log in 30 minutes before the beginning of the Webcast to allow participants to solve technical problems.

Captioning can be seen below the PowerPoint slide in the Adobe Connect window. You should be able to increase the font size as necessary. Captioning can also be accessed at a separate website: www.streamtext.net/text.aspx?event=CCER.

Questions and Interaction during the Webcast:  Usually, our audience online is muted and type their questions in the chat box to be read to the presenter by our staff. We will mute all phone lines during a presentation, and will open the phone lines again during question and answer period. If you are on the phone only and not online, you can mute the phone on your end by selecting *# (star, pound) and then to unmute select *# again.

The chat box is not accessible to screen reader users. However, if you are unable to access the chat box to post questions, you may email your questions to John McClure: mccluj@uw.edu. Your question will be read to the presenter along with other questions from the chat box.

Some trouble shooting hints:

  • Adobe Connect should work in any browser, but if you are unable to get online and are asked to update your flash player, try a different browser.
  • If you are online but cannot hear the audio, check to see if your computer speakers are on. If you have a phone you can try to dial in instead.
  • If you connect by phone and online, you may hear echoes when you speak. This means your speaker output is feeding through your microphone. Turn off your computer speakers and microphone and listen only through your phone.  Also, sometimes laptops have built in speakers and microphones that you do not see, but which will interfere with clear sound. So, you may need to go to your ‘control panel’ and turn them off.
