SeaWorld has been under a lot of fire in the last few years. Since the film Blackfish came out, they’ve been on the defensive, since it turns out that most people are against holding incredible creatures captive for our entertainment. The orca jail is constantly putting out these short videos that attempt to paint captive whales as happy, well adjusted creatures, which they are not. And holy shit, is it ever depressing.
Tilikum isn’t alone, they say. He gets to play with one other whale! Tilikum gets to play with a piece of wood on a rope! Tilikum gets to rest! Isn’t he lucky? We should celebrate!
