BlueJackets Sting

The Kelowna Falcons mustered only 3 base hits, and Mitchell Robinson had a 3-run homerun and 5 RBI to lead the Kitsap BlueJackets over the Falcons by a 6-1 score Tuesday in Kitsap.

There would be no scoring until inning 5, when an unearned run got the BlueJackets on the board, before Robinson’s homer down the left field line off of Kelowna starter Tyler Gillies.

The Falcons got a run back in the 7th moments after Wade Gulden hit a ball that hooked into the trees beyond the right field fence, deemed foul by the home plate umpire. Gulden would  bounce one towards first on the next pitch, and beat it out, allowing Justin Flores to score.

Brandon Oliver tried to score on the same play but an alert Alex Ping threw him out at home plate.

2 more BlueJackets run were tacked on against Kyle Rasmussen (pictured).

The Falcons will look for a series win in the rubber match on Canada Day, when they take on the BlueJackets in Kitsap at 6:35.
