Kaley LaForce notched a John Carroll University women's lacrosse first on Monday.

The junior defender became the first OAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week honoree in program history.

LaForce has helped lead a defensive unit that has played exceptionally well as of late. Last week John Carroll went 2-0 including a 21-1 rout over Waynesburg on Tuesday.

Individually, LaForce recorded a season-best seven ground balls in Saturday's 20-9 win over St. Mary's (Ind.). She scored her first two collegiate goals earlier in the week at Waynesburg.

LaForce becomes the second player in program history to earn weekly accolades from the OAC. Previously,
Grace Curatolo was named the OAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on March 3.

John Carroll returns to action with a 6 p.m. contest against Defiance on Tuesday, March 31.
