23 arrested, including Al Gore's daughter, at West Roxbury pipeline protest
Gore traveled to Boston from New York
Twenty-three people were arrested Wednesday during a protest of the West Roxbury spectra pipeline.
Among those taken into custody was Karenna Gore, the daughter of former Vice President Al Gore. Karenna Gore was seen lying in the trench of the pipeline construction along with other protesters.
The organizers, Resist the Pipeline & Stop the West Roxbury Lateral (SWRL) said the mother of three traveled from New York to join in the demonstration.
The organization said protesters got into the trench to commemorate the graves dug in May for parts of the world experiencing unprecedented heat waves and drought.
Those arrested are facing multiple charges including disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and trespassing. They are expected to be arraigned Thursday at West Roxbury District Court.
