A referendum to decide whether or not Greece is to accept the fiscal measures proposed by the European Union (EU), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Central Bank (ECB) will take place on Sunday, 5 July 2015 if the Greek Parliament ratifies the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The referendum was announced by the Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras in the early morning of 27 June 2015. Tsipras himself without making his position clear insinuated that the Greek people should vote "no". All other ministers have clearly supported "no".
