A cold calling resale company has been brought to our attention this week, by many concerned Timeshare owners. The company is acting under the name of Universal Consultants.

Universal Consultants contacts the timeshare owner by phone and explains they have many requests for the resort he actually owns. How lucky can one be?

And the customers are willing top ay a good Price as well for the membership.

Once the timeshare owner has shown his interest, the agent from Universal Consultants will send a follow up email.

This email comes from the following address universal.2001.sl@gmail.com which is a rather starnge address and also indicates this company does not have any website or domain.

In the follow up email it becomes clear that in order to get the sale processed, Universal Consultants expects the Timeshare owner to pay 1600 pounds as a liability charge.

This is though a charge which is considered an upfront deposit and this is clearly and strictly forbidden by the European Legislation.

Any genuine resale company would be working by this legislation and certainly not ask for this money to be paid to get started.

We have been unable to find a company by this name at the mentioned address and neither have we found this company at the Spanish Companies House register.

Between the cold call and the upfront fee request we have reasons enough to say that consumers should be cautious when dealing with this company.
