Head coach
Greg Reitz has announced that
Brandon Dau has signed a letter of intent to continue his volleyball career at Lourdes University.
Â
Dau arrives at Lourdes from Orange Coast College where he spent the last two seasons, helping the Pirates to the state championship as a freshman in 2013. Dau appeared in 21 matches as a freshman, averaging 1.23 kills per set and hit .239 while registering 0.29 blocks per set. As a sophomore, he tallied 1.45 digs per set in 21 matches.
Â
"We are very excited to add Brandon to the roster," Reitz stated. "He comes to us with a great deal of high level experience playing in the California Community College Association, including a state championship his freshman year. He has competed as an outside hitter throughout his career and I expect him to do the same for us."
Â
A native of Henderson, Nev., Dau was a First Team All-State selection for Coronado High School as a senior when he helped lead the Cougars to a state championship. Dau also garnered Second Team All-State accolades during his junior year, and the Cougars advanced to the state finals all four seasons during his prep career.
Â
Dau will enter Lourdes with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
