CALDWELL, N.J. – Four Caldwell University softball players were included on the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II Softball teams, the organization announced. Senior Alyssa Calderon (Fontana, CA/Etiwanda), sophomore Amy Hickman (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) and freshman Kortney Craker (San Marcos, CA/Mission Hills) are on the first team, while junior pitcher Amber Padilla (Chino, CA/Pomona Catholic) is on the second team. The teams were selected by coaches from ECAC member institutions.

A four-time all-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honoree at catcher, Calderon is also a three-time all-East Region performer. This season she batted .405 with 62 hits, 14 doubles, seven homers and 38 RBIs to earn a spot on the Daktronics all-East Region first team. Calderon led the Cougars to the CACC Tournament championship with a pair of three-run home runs and was named the tournament's MVP. The 2013 CACC Player of the Year, Calderon holds the all-time records at Caldwell for RBIs (188), doubles (65) and total bases (406). She also has 248 hits and 25 home runs in her career.

Hickman had a breakout season this spring, earning first team all-CACC and all-East Region honors from Daktronics and the NFCA. She led the Cougars and ranked second in the CACC with a .421 batting average while posting an on base percentage of .507 to rank second in the league. Hickman, who reached base safely in 15 straight games earlier this season, went 9-for-19 at the plate in nine postseason games.

Craker turned in an excellent freshman campaign, batting .405 with 51 hits, 37 runs, 12 doubles, seven home runs and 39 RBIs. An all-CACC selection, she led the CACC with a .667 slugging percentage while ranking third in the league in homers and fourth in average, runs, doubles and RBIs. Craker, who also made both the NFCA and Daktronics all-East Region teams, had five hits at the CACC Tournament to make the all-tournament team and also hit a three-run homer in a 6-2 win over Pace at the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.

Padilla, a two-time Daktronics all-Region pitcher, makes her second appearance on the ECAC All-Star team after going 20-6 with an earned run average of 1.82 this season. A three-time all-CACC pitcher, she led the conference in victories while ranking second in innings (172 2/3) and third in ERA and strikeouts (138). In Caldwell's 7-2 win over Wilmington on May 10 at the NCAA Regional, Padilla limited the Wildcats to two runs on six hits while striking out nine to become just the fourth Cougar pitcher to win 20 games in a season. Through three seasons, Padilla is 53-16 to rank fourth at Caldwell in victories and third in winning percentage.

Jess Rechtenwald of Gannon and Casey Williamson of Indianapolis were selected the ECAC Co-Players of the Year. Adelphi's Brenna Martini is the ECAC Rookie of the Year, while Indianapolis' Melissa Frost received ECAC Coach of the Year honors.

The Cougars, coached by Dean Johnson, went 37-14-1 this season and won the CACC regular-season and tournament titles while advancing to their eighth consecutive NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.
