COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers held Young Harris to just 25.6 percent shooting and remained unbeaten with a 59-40 victory over the Mountain Lions on Tuesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.
The Lady Tigers, now 3-0, took a 27-14 lead at the half. Young Harris made just four of 19 shots (21.05 percent) in the first half. Benedict had a double-digit lead from midway through the first half.
Britenique Harrison scored on a layup to open the second half and
Carissa Shropshire hit a 3-pointer for a 32-14 lead and Benedict held at least a 16-point lead for the rest of the game.
London Richardson and
KaDeeja Vaughn each had 10 points for the Lady Tigers. Benedict had a 43-23 rebounding advantage.
Peyton Robertson led Young Harris, 2-2, with seven points. Benedict beat Young Harris twice in less than a week.
The Lady Tigers return to the court when they travel to take on Winston-Salem State on Friday, Dec. 5.
