Watch: Christina Applegate Reveals Meryl Streep’s Dark Side in Funny or Die Short

Just because Lifetime aired “UnREAL” — one of the best shows of this summer — doesn’t mean they’ve given up one of their other popular franchises: the scandalous biopic. And who’s had the most scandalous life, it turns out? None other than Hollywood bad girl Meryl Streep. 

At least, that’s Funny or Die‘s take in this short starring Christina Applegate in the role of a lifetime: playing the woman who’s played a hundred “roles of a lifetime.” Applegate recreates many of Streep’s most iconic performances and… well, she tries, gosh darn it. And it’s at least good enough for a Lifetime movie. 

Applause, by the way, for the “#meryl” embedded on screen. After all, it’s the live-Tweeting that’s the best part of the experience.
