Hello Everyone,

It’s been a long time coming and I am so glad to be back. Back to doing what I love. Back to being a writer but most importantly, back to living the life of Scarlett Fry. I am releasing the cover and title for Scarlett Fry’s next novel. This will be the 5^th book in the series and there are many more to come. 

I had to get this one out because it’s been long overdue. Seems like Scarlett has been pregnant for years. However, in the life of Scarlett Fry, let’s pretend it’s only been a few months.

I will post the synopsis below but let’s discuss this new one.

So, Scarlett is in the middle of her pregnancy and is as hot headed as ever. She’s been asked by her captain to take a back seat to any case that comes through the Western Division but Scarlett isn’t having any of that. She’s heathy, the baby is great, she has no reason to slow down. So, in order to get what she wants and never come off of a case, she agrees to not take lead in any case if her Captain will not put her on desk duty. So, she’s still active but not the lead. At least not in front of Captain Walter because if any of her teammates know her, they know she never listens and never backs down from a fight.

So, one night Scarlett finds herself looking at a dead woman in the driver’s seat of a car in the hills of Point Loma. What seems like a simple case turns into something so deadly, no one on the team saw it coming.

As with any Scarlett Fry novel, I took myself back to school and dove deep into this case. This story took on a leg of its own towards the middle. I had my outline all mapped out and ready to go but before I knew it, people were dying and evidence was coming out that I didn’t realize was there. Not to mention towards the end of the book something tragic was happening and I didn’t even realize it. 

I actually cried when I put the last period on this book, for various reasons. 

So, now that we’ve got all of that out of the way, let’s reveal the cover and the synopsis.

Synopsis

Scarlett Fry is facing the toughest job she’s ever experienced: she’s getting ready to be a mother. 

With just a few months left in her pregnancy, she’s done everything possible to remain involved in every case her team has been assigned to solve. And as if being a pregnant detective wasn’t challenging enough, Scarlett has been assigned a new partner.   Neither her captain nor her husband can convince her to ride out her pregnancy behind a desk. So, in the middle of the night, she finds herself looking into a car window at a dead woman.

Debra Heath is found dead in her car within walking distance from her Point Loma home. She is found with two gunshot wounds, so the case is quickly turned over to homicide. Debra has no known enemies and lived a pretty consistent life, but when Scarlett Fry and her team uncover a cold case that hits close to Debra and her family, they are immediately drawn to a well-known drug dealer as the killer. 

Before they know it, the team comes face to face with a killer who’s been right under their nose. 

Is this a gang related killing or has Scarlett and her team stumbled upon the vicious killer who tore Debra’s family apart?
