Raipur: Chhattisgarh police have rescued a 16-year-old girl from Gurgaon, who was lured by a man from state capital to elope with him last year. The girl was brought back along with her newborn baby on Friday and the man was arrested for abducting and exploiting a minor girl. Raipur SP Sanjeev Shukla told TOI that the hails from Tilda-Nevra and was just 15 and half year old when a man called Bhanu Sahu, 22,from Bhilaigarh persuaded her to have a relation with him and later took her to Gurgaon where he also married her.Subsequently, the girl's family had lodged a complaint at Nevra police station against Sahu on charges of abduction of minor in August last year.
Police have been trying to trace Sahu's number but to no avail. Later, it was found that Sahu's family was in touch with him. During investigations, police traced Gurgaon-based mobile number.Soon, a team of four policemen along with an NGO Shakti Vahini was sent to Gurgaon to rescue the girl and it was found that she has recently delivered baby on August 6 and Sahu was also arrested.The girl would be presented before magistrate in child welfare committee and it would be decided if the parents are ready to accept her with the baby or she has to be sent to a shelter home.
