Never Heard of Finding Max??? Here's your chance!!!

Been so busy working on editing Chapter XI of Finding Max, which is due out in Spring 2018 -- I'm so excited.

This has been a long haul to getting "Finding Max" published. First all those rejection letters, which we all authors expect and almost come to love as though they are little bits of personal emails sent to us, just us, in this whole wide world. Then again, they're just rejection letters, right?

So after too many of them from agents too afraid to leap forward on an interesting book with some meat at its core, I finally hit it well with Creators Inc., a primarily random assortment (from my eyes, though it is probably less random than not) of syndicated cartoons and editorializations. The publishing arm of the company seems rather small in comparison to the rest of the company, but I'll take what I can ger right now. And a part of me does believe in them. Really does.

So that's where I'm at today. Editing and writing the sequel to "Finding Max," titled "Loving Max." The third book in the Finding Max Trilogy will be titled, "Discovering Max" or some such thing. I had toyed around with the idea of using "Killing Max" for the shock value, but have (mostly) decided against it (but it is still in the running, don't count it out yet!)

Finding Max is a huge departure for me from what I've been writing of late, but it gestures back toward the type of writing I used to do in years gone past.

Though my first ever novel was not a thriller, it was more of a literary novel than manh of my subsequent novels. There are certainly those literary elements in Finding Max. But the thriller aspect of the novel is a new departure. I never set out to write a thriller, and I'm not sure I have succeeded, either. But I have created a novel that keeps you turning pages, unable to get up from your seat to go to the bathroom when you need to, and one that will keep you up all night because you cannot put it down. If that's not a thriller, then I don't know what is.

Chapter I opens with Gary (8-years old) and Maximilian (5-years old), two brothers playing in a playground unsupervised. When Gary turns around, the younger Max has disappeared. Fast forward seventeen years later when Gary works in a Bowery Homeless Shelter as a social worker and is visited one day by a young man seeking services. What is so familiar about this man? Why is he so evasive? By the time Gary figures out it is his long-lost brother Max it is too late and he has fled the scene.

What will it take to bring the two brothers together? And who will keep them safe from Quinn, the homicidal maniac who seeks to re-abduct Max for his own nefarious purposes while killing Gary and his new love interest, Jean, along the way.

Finding Max is due out in Spring 2018. Look for it!!!
