Originally, an exclusive KAL for the MN Knitters’ Guild this pattern is now available for sale to non-Guild members.

(Guild members can still get it for free on the dashboard of the Guild website under free patterns. You must be signed into the website.)

These mittens have lots of different option; think of it as a chose your own adventure project.

There are three widths: 7, 7.5 and 8” (17.78, 19.05 and 20.32cm). Each width comes in two lengths. You can chose to do a side-gore or after-thought thumb. There is an alternate loon chart that can be switched out with the “nice” section.

I used three colors of Knit Picks Palette: Delta 25g/116.5yds, White 19g/88.5yds, Clover 11g/51yds for the 7.5” size. You need at least two colors to make these, but you can certainly use much more than three.

Errata: These are for the MN Knitters’ Guild version only. The version for sale on Ravelry is correct.

  • On the medium size pattern, the second chart (page 6) should actually be titled “side gore thumb” not “afterthought thumb.”

  • The charts for the large size say MN Nice Mittens Small 8” in the title, they should of course say Large, not small. The charts are for the large size.
