K-12 Art Show 2017

This year, 1,780 pieces of art by K-12 students from 18 different schools were on display at our Annual K-12 Art Show at Mineral Area College, sponsored by Heimburger Construction, Inc. The show included more entries than ever!

More than 1,100 people walked through the Field House during the open viewing hours on Saturday, and hundreds of students visited the show on Friday during school field trips. Student artists hailed from home schools and the school districts of Arcadia Valley, Bismarck, Central, Clearwater, Farmington, Fredericktown, Kingston, North County, Potosi, St. Paul Lutheran, Ste. Genevieve, Sunrise R-IX, Valley R-6 and West County.

A big thanks to all our volunteers who helped out during the week, teachers who brought and set up work and especially the generosity of Heimburger Construction. We could not have done it without you!

Check out the story in the Farmington Press and Daily Journal for a great compilation of photos and stories from throughout the show and read on to learn more about our big winners:

Mineral Area College Little Theatre Guild presents
THE LARAMIE PROJECT
Thursday, June 22--Saturday, June 24
Mineral Area College Fine Arts Theater, Park Hills

"The Laramie Project" is set in and around Laramie, Wyoming, in the aftermath of the murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard. To create the stage version of "The Laramie Project," the eight-member New York-based Tectonic Theatre Project traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, recording hours of interviews with the town's citizens over a two-year period. The film adaptation dramatizes the troupe's visit, using the actual words from the transcripts to create a portrait of a town forced to confront itself.

Tickets: $7 General Admission/$3 Student and Senior
Available at the MAC Bookstore and at the door
This show is Rated R.
