10 schools compete in second prom poll for Grand Rapids area

Godfrey-Lee won the prom poll with 22.2 percent of the vote, edging out Zeeland East, which had 22.06 percent of the vote

10 proms compete in this week's poll

Prom season is well underway, and MLive is attending as many as possible. But, with several proms scheduled for the weekend of April 28-29, we won't be able to make them all.

The following ten schools are competing in the second Grand Rapids Press prom poll of 2017. Winning ensures an MLive photographer will attend and capture photos of that school's special night.

See which local high schools are in the running this week, and don't forget to scroll to the bottom to cast your vote.

Cedar Springs

Cedar Springs High School will hold its prom at 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Grand Rapids.

Last year, the high school held its prom, which had the theme of "Black Tie and Diamond," at Frederik Meijer Gardens.

Godfrey-Lee

Godfrey-Lee High School's prom will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 28, at the Bissell Tree House at John Ball Zoo.

The picturesque location, situated at one of Grand Rapids' highest points, was also the setting of last year's prom, which had a theme of "Mystery Masquerade."

Godwin Heights

Godwin Heights High School's prom begins at 8 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 29, at Noto's Old World Italian Dining in Cascade Township.

In 2015, the Wyoming high school celebrated prom with a theme of "Diwali Lights" at Bridgewater Place in downtown Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central

Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School will celebrate prom on Saturday, April 29.

The school's 2016 prom, for which the theme was "Club CC," was held at New Vintage Place in historic American Seating Park on Grand Rapids' West Side.

Grand Rapids West Catholic High School is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Wave Room in Northeast Grand Rapids.

Lowell

Lowell High School's prom will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids Township.

The high school celebrated its 2016 prom, which had a theme of "Carousel," at the Grand Rapids Public Museum,  the home of the vividly painted 1928 antique Spillman Carousel.

Northview High School's prom will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 28.

Wyoming

Wyoming High School's prom will be held 8 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Grand Valley State University's Russel H. Kirkhof Center, located on the university's main campus in Allendale.

The theme of this year's prom is "The Golden Era."

Zeeland East High School's prom will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in downtown Grand Rapids.

Forest Hills Eastern

Forest Hills Eastern High School will celebrate prom at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at Watermark Country Club in Cascade Township.

The school's 2016 prom, which had a "Roaring 20s" theme, was held at Thousand Oaks Golf Course.
