"Inkle's adaptation of Sorcery! takes the genre to a whole new level" -- Kotaku

Based on the million-selling Fighting Fantasy series by legendary designer Steve Jackson, Sorcery! is an interactive adventure spanning four chapters and an entire world of traps, monsters, magic and mayhem. Cast spells with wild and weird consequences. Take risks. Gamble with goblins. Explore caves, mines, and treacherous cities. Survive, if you can..!

* Your own story: thousands of choices, all of which are remembered
* Forge your own path across a hand-drawn map
* Unique combat system based on bluff and deception
* From the creators of 80 DAYS, TIME magazine's Game of the Year 2014

"Beautifully realised ... this gripping tale has us well and truly hooked" -- Pocket Gamer (Gold Award)

"Sometimes I feel like I'm wasting my time writing a review when I should really just be pointing at a game and demanding that people play it. This is one of those times. Steve Jackson's Sorcery! is an absolutely marvellous fantasy storybook adventure. Lushly illustrated and expertly told, it should not be missed by anyone even remotely interested in the genre." -- Gamezebo

"Let’s not mince words here... Sorcery’s unique blend of tabletop-like roleplaying (including an incredible combat system quite unlike anything I’ve seen before), and elaborate branching pathways with custom scripts preserving the feeling of Steve Jackson’s work make me now want to… no, HAVE TO acquire it" - Just Press Start

Featuring original illustrations by John Blanche, character art by Eddie Sharam (DC Comics), and an interactive map by Mike Schley (Wizards of the Coast).

Choose your own adventure game with tons of choices. My playthrough was a bit short though, and although there are more choices I could rewind to do, I just don't feel like rerunning it, although I could. However, the second game fixes all this and practically makes you rerun it a few times for extra loot and lore. Start with this one, if you're hooked, play the next games. They build upon the same concept, with even better story mechanics.

Definitely enjoyable, but I wish it was a little clearer that this is only Book 1. The description says "Four chapters" and got me thinking it was all four parts, when it's just the beginning and the description is for the entire series as a whole. Even changing the title to "Sorcery: Book 1" or similar would help avoid some of the confusion there, otherwise it comes across as a way to trick people into spending more.

I have played both Sorcery! + Socery! 2 and am obsessed. This game is like a choose your own adventure book with a basic combat system thrown in. The graphics are gorgeous and the immersive storyline will suck you in quickly. The only reason I gave this one 4 stars is because it's rather short, especially compared to the 2nd chapter. I played it for free via playpass but I might have been disappointed if I'd paid $5.99, although it does have decent replayability
