In light of recent events, including the shooting deaths of three police officers by a former Marine in Baton Rouge, La. over the weekend, USA is further postponing its new drama Shooter. The drama starring Ryan Phillippe, which was supposed to premiere this Tuesday, is now being held until the fall, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
"After further consideration, USA Network, Paramount TV and Universal Cable Productions have decided to move the premiere of Shooter to the fall," a network rep said in a statement.

Last week, USA announced that it would move Shooter's debut back a week, from July 19 to July 26, after five police officers were killed in Dallas, Tex.
Shooter follows Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe), a former Marine sniper who is tasked with saving the president from an assassination, and ends up becoming wrongly accused of a crime. It is based on the 2007 movie starring Mark Wahlberg, which was in turn based on the Stephen Hunter novel Point of Impact.
