Lockdown lifted at Hendersonville Medical Center following phoned-in bomb threat

UPDATE: (9:35 a.m.)

Employees and patients are being let back inside TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center following a lockdown Monday morning.

Hendersonville police and fire crews did an extensive room-by-room search after a bomb threat was made to the hospital about 6 :30 a.m. The caller said they had placed a bomb in the hospital.

The hospital and entire campus went on lockdown while crews searched the area.

No threats were found during the search and staff and patients were being let back inside.

Crews said the person who called the threat in will be facing serious charges.

UPDATE: (8:50 a.m.)

The Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Operations Explosive Ordinance Disposal is on scene at Hendersonville Medical Center.


The hospital is on lockdown while police search for a "suspicious person."


Patients are being turned away and triaged at Fire Hall #5, then sent to the ER.

More serious or critical patients will be sent to another hospital's ER.

The TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is on lockdown while police search for a "suspicious person."

A news conference is expected to held soon.

An alert was sent out to Hendersonville residents about 7:26 a.m. saying that patients were not being accepted at the hospital. Another alert at 8:07 a.m. said that the hospital is on partial lockdown and patients are being triaged at Fire Station Number 5 before going to the Emergency Room.

If someone is in a more serious or critical condition, they will be taken to another hospital's emergency room.
