A Home for Lonna and Jack

After 5 years of teaching English overseas (in Russia, Turkey, and China), Lonna Lisa Williams (writer and journalist) came back to America. Finding the economy bad (with no need for an English teacher), Lonna and her Armenian/Turkish husband Jack looked for jobs from California to Atlanta, stopping for a few months in Houston where Lonna was almost killed in a car accident. Surviving a head injury, Lonna grieved over her "totaled" Mazda 5 minivan and had to buy a Chevy sedan at too high a cost. She and Jack ended up sleeping in the sedan as they had in the van, but with less comfort.
