Description

Join us for the first public showing of Greg Palast's ground-breaking investigation "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy: A Tale of Billionaires and Ballot Bandits." Following his investigations for BBC and Rolling Stone, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" is Palast's factual dramatization of the nefarious voter suppression scheme Interstate Crosscheck. From the desk of the Secretary of State of Kansas to carcass of the automotive industry in Detroit, Palast hunts down the voters on this blacklist to find out who they are and why they are accused of voting twice. Surprisingly, none of those accused of voting twice have done so, which begs the question - what is Interstate Crosscheck's true purpose, if not to catch criminal double voters?

Unsurprisingly, digging further into the Interstate Crosscheck list puts Palast on the trail of the billionaire bandits that have been rigging elections for decades. From the Brothers Koch to JP "The Foreclosure King" to Paul "The Vulture" Singer, Palast dredges up their shadowy interests and explores just how and why they are working to suppress voters during this election.

Featuring music by Mario Grigorov and animations by Keith Tucker, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy" is an unapologetic, unflinching look at the money that drives the American political machine, and the voters that are crushed beneath it.
