José Luis Velázquez Rodríguez

About the author

Born in Seville in 1972, José Luis Velázquez Rodríguez is a pharmacy technician, "an apprentice writer and human being", as he himself likes photography. He combines his work in the apothecary —where he has spent half his life—, with his many and varied hobbies and with the imperative need to write. He is the author of poetry, short stories, short stories and novels, of different genres, but above all fantasy, science fiction, horror. He permeates his stories with mystery, spirituality, even religion and esotericism. Currently he has titles once published on different platforms; but he accumulates several narrative, poetic projects and essays, which will increase the number of his publications. The Black Forest, Prison Planet, Eternal return, To Ithaca, The ghost without memory, Songs of love and heartbreak, 500 maximum minimums, etc. are in his possession. All his stories, poems and writings, in general, have a spiritual, psychological, philosophical aspect. The author does not conceive of writing for mere entertainment, but for the need to discover himself and help others to do the same. Everything must have a meaning, a moral, a lesson, even if it is the lack of it at the end of the journey of reading and writing. The mystery, the paranormal, the fantasy, the epic, the personal, the universal, the romantic, for him, are paths that lead to the same place, to ask the right questions, to open his eyes and wake up. His books can have several parallel readings, from a first reading, simple, entertaining, that tells what counts, to an esoteric, deep reading, that tells what counts and what doesn't count.
