What is Sony Apps Enabler?
  • Sony Apps Enabler is basically a ported version of Sony devices' framework files. This tricks playstore into recognizing your android as a Sony device. Therefore, you get to install and update all Sony device specific apps directly from playstore.

  • What you'll get:
    • Support for all Sony Apps that are on Playstore.
      • Music
      • Album
      • Xperia Keyboard
      • Xperia Home
      • Calendar
      • Weather
      • Sketch, etc

  • What you won't get:
    • Support for Sony device specific stock apps that are not on Playstore.

Installation
  • Make sure your device has a functional TWRP recovery
  • Download and flash the "Sony Apps Enabler_3.0.1.zip"
  • Reboot
  • Clear Playstore's data
  • Reboot
  • Open Playstore and install your preferred Sony apps.

Uninstallation
  • Reboot to recovery
  • Flash the "Sony Apps Disabler.zip"
  • Reboot

  • Currently, none.

F.A.Q.

  • Will it work on my ROM?
    => It should. It has been tested working on almost all popular 4.4.4 to 9.0 ROMs.
    -
  • Why doesn't it work?
    => Try the alternate version. 3.0.1 doesn't work on some devices, eg. Kenzo.
    -
  • Still doesn't work?
    => Make sure you cleared Playstore's data exactly as instructed. And try going through the whole installation process a couple of times.
    -
  • Why can't I install AR Effect and some similar apps?
    => This mod lets you install Sony Apps from Playstore that are "Independent". AR Effect requires Sony Camera app to work, that's why AR Effect and few other apps of this sort won't work.

  • Will you repack your mod with the apk's of Sony Apps?
    => Nope. Kinda ruins the purpose of this mod, don't you think?

  • Do you plan to make a Magisk Module of this?
    => A module has already been made by @matpower64. His thread can be found here.

  • I can't find my desired Sony App on Playstore search results.
    => Direct Playstore links are already added on this thread. The Playstore links can also be found on the APKMirror pages.

  • When will it be updated?
    => Can't say for sure, I've stopped working on this.
    But it's been tested working on most up to date ROMs (9.0 (AICP 14.0) was the last I've used it on).

And nothing much really, my old zip stopped working on some ROMs on kenzo. I fixed it in the new zip.

Is it mean that we can use Sony stock camera app with AR effects with Lineage OS on Sony devices? Did anybody tried it? For my daughter this would be the dream as in this case she could change onto Lineage OS her Z2 tablet.

Sadly none of the zips work for me, both still show "your device isn't compatible with this version" when trying to install the apps, OP3T 7.1.1 stock

While this is awesome, I'd like to keep Safetynet happy as far as possible - is there any chance of getting a Magisk module for this? Either way, thank you to the dev, great work.

Both 3.1 and 4.2 are not working for me :/
Redmi note 3 sd NitrogenOS 7.1.1

Edit: my bad, 4.2 works :D
