Woman dies after falling at Rainbow Falls

WLOS — TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY -- Emergency responders confirm a woman died after going over a waterfall in Transylvania County.

Lake Toxaway's Deputy Fire Chief Bobby Cooper confirmed a 24-year-old woman had fallen 185 feet off of Rainbow Falls.

Cooper said crews recovered her body around 8:30 p.m.

The identity of the victim hasn't been released as next of kin have not yet been notified.

Cooper said the incident is still under investigation by the United States Forest Service.
