TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) -- Tulsa International Airport is saying goodbye to a member of its security team Tuesday.

Bic, an explosives detection dog, is retiring after nine years of service at TUL. The Belgium Malinois is being celebrated Tuesday at a retirement ceremony.

Bic and his handler, Tulsa Police Officer Richard Davis, started at the Tulsa airport in 2008. Through the years, Bic has checked unattended luggage and provided routine patrols.

Bic and Davis have also responded to several surrounding communities for bomb threats and provided protection for Vice President Joe Biden, President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

Bic trained at the 341st Training Squadron at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Following Bic's initial training, Davis spent 10 weeks at Lackland working with him to become a team.

His retirement ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Center Terminal in front of the Oil Mural.
