The art of half truths and lies - or how to pad up your project page

An educational institution should be known for the integrity and honesty of the people who make it up.

What has that got to do with us, you may wonder.

Well, see here below - what a nice project this international consultancy claims to have completed in Greece in 2014.

Unfortunately it is a complete lie. We cannot rap everyone's knuckles for all the lies they spread - but this one is linked to our centre - CELT Athens - in Athens, Greece.

Note the devious way in which they have indicated the "Donor" - not CELT Athens so, legally, we cannot do anything about this, but CELTA Athens, a non-existent outfit.

Here is their page screenshot - lest this one disappears :

What they have done in Greece

Exactly nothing, other than fabricate some fictional project.

The Facts

  1. In 2014 there was no other institution in Athens - other than CELT Athens, that is - which offered CELTA courses.
  2. CELTA Athens does not exist as a centre but CELT Athens does (clever gals!)
  3. CELTA is a course, not a partner institution (but when you are trying to impress people who don't know any better who cares what you put down).
  4. We did not hire anyone from this group to work for us and we certainly did not work for them!

And even if we had hired a freelance tutor (which we did not!), this was not through this consulting firm.

And even if we had, this is not a "project" that ELT Consultants can post on their page as an achievement.

I am sorry that the two founders, members of this community - you can see them on this page here - chose to write such blatant but ill conceived lies!

I am afraid I have to now doubt everything else they claim they have done or are able to do!!!
