One of the best experiences for service at a dealer, especially thanks to my service advisor: Tyrell..
Where I can, I do the service myself but this was clearly something that needed the right expertise and specialized tools.
I took it to Coulter because I trust them and they did a great job.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrew F.Tempe, AZ363Jan 31, 2024
I strongly recommend against buying a non GM vehicle and warranty from this dealership. They will not honor any repairs as they tell you they will. Meaning you will have to take it to another dealership and be subjected to higher rates. Very disappointing for a once reputable dealership.
I have verified again that Coulter refuses to service non GM vehicles under extended warranties they sell. The service director will not return calls nor will finance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Robert G.AZ, AZ061Apr 14, 2024

5 years of loyalty. After having a doctors appointment and not feeling well, I went in for our scheduled oil change as well as the diagnostic check they always do. Immediately, they offered to do a tire rotation at a discount, not feeling well and knowing we had an upcoming trip, I said "sure".
Then I get a call about 30 minutes later stating that the mechanics saw our brakes were really worn, that it was almost metal touching metal. I said let's get that scheduled rather than doing it that day. First red flag should have been, they didn't persist on this. If it truly was metal touching metal, they would have pushed hard and advised me of the consequences of the damage that could cause.
Well, after feeling a bit better, it dawned on me that it didn't seem right. Since it wasn't covered under warranty, I acknowledged the steep price. I got a second opinion somewhere else, and I was happy I did so. Immediately they called me and said, "are you sure you want us to change the brakes, they aren't even halfway worn". It dawned on me that I was literally being CON'd by GMC. Even worse, this other companies diagnostic lead them to poor spark plugs that needed to be changed (flag 3, GMCs diagnostics didn't even find this issue).
This other company easily could have gotten away with a brake change payment, but they had more integrity than GMC.
GMC, What is the point of your mechanics doing a physical check if they are going to lie?
What is the point of diagnostics when out of 3 times, it has never picked up when our spark plugs needed replacing?
What is the point of trying to reach out now that your lies are exposed...how do you seriously come back from your mechanics lie, diagnostics don't catch anything, and your schedulers are willing to lie with a straight face. This is what give mechanics a bad rep
Check your reports from March 7, 2024 to find the issue.

My husband took my car in for a routine oil change.
The technician Nick told my husband my brake pads were low and all hitting metal to metal. We went to another place for a second opinion as I had gotten the pads done recently. I was told the pads were perfectly fine and not even half of them were worn down.
I'm incredibly disappointed that GMCs technicians would abuse the trust of their customers.
I will not be taking my vehicle there again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brandon J.Obfelden, Switzerland0312Oct 11, 2023
So i recently purchased a brand new 2023 sierra with the 2.7l engine. Within the first month of ownership i heard a strange sound coming from engine bay took it in and crank shaft needed to he replaced 30 days later i get the truck back one week later the turbo went out. Truck spent 38 days in the shop and the engine light came back on while in a trip. Communication is great but it does no good when GM corporate is out to get you at every chance. I was a GMC truck guy for life but with the way GM treats its customers i think i will be trading in my lemon for a toyota. The offer i received form GM was 7k under what i payed less than 6 months ago the process it self was. Oh and check your contracts you dont want an extra 6k of un asked for extras! 7 years of low jack, at 1500 7 years of fabric protection in a base model for 1500. Yeah i found that out after the fact!

When I say I had the best car experience here I mean it! Coming from some who previously worked at a dealership I highly recommend. I was literally car shopping for a year. My sales guy Gabe Culver was amazing and helped me get into my dream vehicle! Not one bad thing to say from to finance whole process was smooth and exciting.

I am really sad to write this review, however I feel I have to. I have used Coulter for all my auto needs for my 2021 Buick Enclave since moving from Virginia to Arizona. I felt that I was establishing a relationship for future business (auto purchase) is what I feel, the best approach. When I finally started looking into replacing my leased vehicle into some other Buick, I was shocked at the lack of attention to my needs as a buyer. At one point, I was going to purchase my Enclave only to be shocked at the price. Okay, I get that. So I looked at lesser Buick vehicles to bring the monthly amount down. I wanted to look at several options of no money down, 2K, 4K etc. To my absolute shock again, some of the vehicle amounts were even higher than buying the Enclave out! I was truly disappointed with the lack of assistance of my dealer, and what his lack of willingness (or experience) to vehicle sales. I won't name names, but I had to comment here to let others know. I did find a 2023 used Envision at another dealer (Earnhardt GMC Buick) for a great price, in my budget and a sales associate who worked with me and my budget. Just do your homework and know there are many other dealers around. I won't be back to Coulter. You lost a long time GM lover and supporter.

This is the only place I will take my car for service. Every time I come they are always willing to help. I was in a bind and needing an oil change, but they didn't have any appointments. Nick was so wonderful and fit me in on a busy Saturday so that I could be driving on the road safely. Everyone is friendly, the lounge is very clean, and they really care about their customers. Only place I will go for vehicle service!!

Coulter Tempe is the worst service department I've ever dealt with, I'll never go here again!! I took my car in for a service engine light warranty issue. The service department kept my car overnight, next day I had to call twice to find out when I could pick it up, so I just ended up getting dropped off at the dealership and was told, I could take my car but that they had to order a part, and they would call me when it arrived. Three weeks later, no call!! I called the service rep Stephen Tapia and left him three messages in one week, I called the main number about the issue and they directed me to the service dept. and no one answered. I also did a chat online with someone and they were no help. I called the service department again, and was told to call the service rep again. It's been a month, and I've never heard back from anyone!!

I purchased a GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate from this dealership (sales experience was great). Started to have issues with the truck not recognizing trailers and, as a result, have no trailer lights or brakes. A huge safety issue. The dealership acknowledges that any trailer with LED lights will not be recognized by the truck because there is not a enough resistance for the trailer control module to recognize that a trailer is connected when plugged into the 7-pin connector. This is despite the same LED trailers working with other trucks. Non-LED trailers work fine. However the dealership says that since the trailer test that they have and that GMC recommends shows no fault they can do nothing. This is absolutely ridiculous because they admit their tester doesn't simulate LED meaning not a real life test and even acknowledge that standard testers show the fault (which I bought and brought in to prove). This is a big safety issue and all the dealer will say is they acknowledge the issue, but nothing they can do other than to have me call GM directly. I expect the dealership to be an advocate for the consumer and Coulter is far from it. Stay away from this place and go to one of the many other GMC dealerships in the greater Phoenix valley. I am now seeing why this dealership has a an average rating of just 3 stars.
