The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said the boy's father, 67-year-old Jimmy Guinn, was taken into custody without incident.

Guinn is being held without bond on child abuse and abduction charges after he allegedly drove off with his 11-year-old son after the child "left school on his own accord" Wednesday, according to deputies.

Investigators said  Guinn drove the boy to Michigan  in a purple Freightliner semi and then traveled back through West Virginia.

Officials said a tip just before 9 a.m. Friday led a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy to pull over the semi on Interstate 81.

The AMBER Alert indicated Lucas could be in "extreme danger" and that he was last seen at Lebanon Middle School in Russell County.
The alert said the child may be in a 2004 purple Freight-liner tractor, VA license 78471PY, and that the truck company name was "Snow Bird Trucking."

Investigators believed Guinn might have headed northbound towards West Virginia or Ohio.

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office said the case remains under investigation and that additional charges are pending.
