First Hillside Village Market set for Saturday


The veggies never looked better at the Hillside Community Center garden thanks to volunteers with the J&P’s Sunrise Garden Project @Hillside. Now you can support the effort by buying fresh produce!
 
Come visit the first-ever Hillside Village Market, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 15) at the Hillside Community Center, 925 S. Institute St. It’s part of a huge Community Day celebration chocked full of free family-friendly activities.
 
To help with the organizing and outreach effort, join the team planning meeting at 2 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 13) at the Center. To sell your produce (no vendor fee) or get more information,

This week, U.S. Air Force Academy professor Doug McKenchnie will discuss the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage and LBGtQ+ rights. Film: “Message From Hiroshima”

Narrated by George Takei, “Message From Hiroshima” provides an inside look at life and culture in the city before the first atomic bomb was deployed.
