Ophelia updates – Irish airports and ferry routes disruption

DUBLIN AIRPORT: A number of flights to and from Dublin Airport have been cancelled  due to the expected impact of Hurricane Ophelia. Aer Lingus, British Airways, Air France, CityJet, Emirates and KLM have all cancelled some services for Monday. The airlines in question are contacting passengers directly in relation to any services that have been affected.

Ryanair has said its flights are expected to operate as scheduled, but has asked passengers to check its website and social media outlets for the latest updates.  All intending passengers are advised to contact their airline or check their airline’s website before coming to Dublin Airport tomorrow.

CORK AIRPORT: EI 840 to Amsterdam and EI 841 from Amsterdam cancelled. FR 9852 and FR 9853 to and from LGW both cancelled, more to follow Monday morning. Full updates here.

SHANNON AIRPORT: A spokeswoman for Shannon Airport said: “Shannon Airport will remain open Monday 16^th October.  The safety of our passengers and staff is our first priority. We would ask passengers to contact their airline with regard to updates on schedule changes for tomorrow.  However, at this point we are aware of the following flight cancellations: Aer Lingus Regional EI3675/3672 from and to Edinburgh and EI 3639/3638 from and to Birmingham, and London/Heathrow EI381 and EI384 with Aer Lingus.

“Airlines will continue to advise passengers of schedule changes and we advise intending passengers to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport tomorrow.

We will continue monitoring the situation throughout the day and live flight information is available on www.shannonairport.ie or on the Shannon Airport App.  We will post airport operational updates tomorrow on our social media channels (Twitter and Facebook) as we become aware of them but, again, we would encourage passengers to check with their airline.”

IRELAND WEST: Ryanair regret to advise customers that due to adverse weather expected in Ireland on Monday 16th October, they have been forced to cancel a number of flights into and out of Irish airports. As a result Ryanair have cancelled all schedule flights into and out of Ireland West Airport for Monday 16th October. Flights cancelled are as follows.

–       FR6673 & FR6674 to and from Liverpool

–       FR805 & FR806 to and from London Stansted

–       FR8142 & FR8143 to and from London Luton

–       FR1742 & FR1743 to and from East Midlands

–       FR807 & FR808 to and from London Stansted

Ryanair sincerely apologises for any delays or inconvenience caused by these disruptions which are outside of their control.
