Riverdale Father Gets Criminal Citation
Father charged criminally for leaving a 3-year-old unattended at home.
A Riverdale Park father was given a criminal citation for leaving his child unattended at home early Saturday morning.
The 3-year-old boy, who was dressed in his pajamas, was found roaming the property of Riverdale Tower Aparments by Riverdale Park police shortly after midnight on July 31.
Although he only spoke Spanish, the child knew which button to press on the elevator and took police to his door.

Police searched for the child's parents and notified residents with a Nixle alert.
About 20 minutes later, the child's father returned and was reunited with his son.

Police said he was charged but not arrested for leaving his child unattended.
