On January 27, 2018, the Ole Miss Rebels will tip off in the Erwin Center against head coach Shaka Smart’s Texas Longhorns in the fifth edition of the Big 12/SEC Challenge, the conferences announced on Thursday.

ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPNU will televise all five games, with one site hosting ESPN’s College GameDay for the interconference festivities.

Following a hard-fought loss on the road to Georgia last season, Texas will attempt to break a 2-2 record in the series and extend an all-time lead against Ole Miss in head-to-head matchups.

Texas has won both home games and lost both road games through the first four years of the challenge.

The two schools haven’t played since 1975, when the Longhorns beat the Rebels in Austin, with all 14 games occurring between 1955 and that final contest 20 years later.
