Our farmstand if fully stocked with hearty mums from Brigham Farm in Concord, MA. Mum plants are a symbol of fall, with their domes of rich, jewel-tone colors. We have a variety of vibrant hues from burgundy garnet to bright citrine. Use these stunning flowers to decorate your walkway in planters or surprise your friends with a fall gift.

Happy Fall From Land's Sake Farm!!

The Autumnal Equinox is on  Friday, September 22 . Thank you all for a fruitful summer season. We are open through October 29th (see fall hours below), so come visit!

 The farmstand is now full of fall goodness. We have pumpkins, apples, winter squash, and will be getting even more decorative gourds for the weekend. 
Reminder of Fall hours: the stand closes at 6 pm Tue - Fri
 Due to the declining daylight  the Farmstand  closes at 6 pm Tuesday - Friday. The CSA tent closes at 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Plein Air Painting with Larry Grob: this Saturday, Sept 23


Saturday Morning Demo/Coaching 
 
Spend a  Saturday morning seeing the Farm through an artist's eyes. Local landscape artist Larry Grob will help you take your first steps or hone your skills in plein air painting, as we focus on the rewards of outdoor painting...with tips on picking your subject, composition, technique, materials, 'survival' skills, and more. Larry will create a demo painting and be your coach as you try your hand at bringing the beauty of Land's Sake to life. All media are welcome. Bring your own drawing board, sketchpad, canvas, paper, pencils, or paints...and a field easel if you have one. Larry will be demonstrating using pastels. Morning coffee and snacks will be provided.

Infusing Herbal Honey Workshop

Come to Land's Sake and learn about all the wonderful magical abundant HERBAL plants that grow amongst us and how to make medicinal  HONEY with wild or cultivated  herbs! Land's Sake Education Manager and Herbalist Anna Cohen will teach participants about the delicious and health-promoting herbs that grow in Land's Sake's gardens. Each participant will be able to harvest their own blend of medicinal herbs and infuse them in a 16-oz jar of local Land's Sake honey to take home. Class limited to 20 people. Teens welcome, children welcome with an adult.

Thursday Evening Pastel Painting with Larry Grob

Spend a Thursday evening with us as late afternoon leads to sunset...one of the most beautiful and dramatic times of the day for plein air painters. Local landscape artist Larry Grob will help you explore the potential of pastels as we work quickly to capture the changing light. Larry will demo, share tips on subject selection, composition, and technique...and coach as you work on your own painting. Sanded paper pastel boards and foam core sleeves (for pastel transportation) will be provided. Bring your own pastels (Larry will have a starter selection available to share) and field easel if you have one.

Medicinal Plant Walk - Rescheduled to Thursday September 28


Join Land's Sake Education Manager and Herbalist Anna Cohen for a walk of the local and cultivated medicinal plants at Land's Sake! There is an amazing variety of natural medicine growing all around us. This plant walk will feature a variety of medicinal plants - from cultivated echinacea and ashwagandha to wild-growing mullein and hawthorn, and many more! This is a great opportunity to connect to our ecosystem in an inspiring, empowering way! Anna will discuss plant ID, common growing conditions, and the traditional medicinal use of each plant. Everyone from new beginners to seasoned herbalists are welcome.

Build A Gourd Birdhouse Workshop for Families

Fall is the best time to hang a new birdhouse, and we have all the materials necessary for you to build a dream home for a house wren! Adults and children will work together to create a beautiful, functional birdhouse from a gourd grown at Land's Sake. Learn how to best meet bird needs while learning new skills and getting creative in your (bird-approved, nature-inspired) decoration! 
 
Each adult may bring up to three children. Land's Sake will provide one birdhouse gourd per registered child. Additional adults may attend free of charge, but will not recieve additional gourds. We only have seven large and nine small gourds available, so register now to resevre your birdhouse!
