1382 Watch What Happens When You Dissolve An Antacid In Space
Hypnotic. NASA/YouTube

Antacids are unspectacular when dropped into a glass of water here on Earth. A little fizzy show and then you knock it back to cure what ails yer.

Take this same, simple action to a space station, and a ball of fizzy water is now floating around.

As with all activities, everything’s way more awesome in space.

Aboard the International Space Station (ISS), crew member Terry Virts used the arrival of a new high-resolution camera to shoot this footage.

The camera has a resolution capability of up to 6K. In the video, you can see the impressively sharp details of the bubbles as the antacid dissolves in the water.

NASA hopes to use this camera in its continual broadcast from the ISS and for experiments conducted aboard the station.
