Here’s our first look at Pleasure-Way’s newest model, the Plateau XL TD. We caught this one at the RVIA show in Louisville at what we think was its debut!
The Plateau XL is Pleasure-Way’s wide-body model, built on the Sprinter chassis. The TD, a Twin Bed, is the second floor plan of that model. We didn’t have the opportunity to do a full-on review of this one, because the RVIA show is a pretty busy place, but very quickly, here are a few of the things we really liked about it:
- This model has NO SLIDES! The designers at Pleasure-Way have clearly torn the fabric of the space-time continuum to create that much space in that small of a footprint.
- The design of the full dry bath is up to Pleasure-Way’s typical standard of bathroom awesomeness.
- The rear living space is about the most spacious you’ll find. The windows on 3 sides give it a very open feeling.
- USB and power outlets are put where you need them: by the beds and in the work areas.
- LARGE exterior storage compartments.
All in all, we found it a spacious and well thought-out coach. If you’re in the market for a twin bed floor plan, you owe it to yourself to check it out. As of this writing, it doesn’t seem to be on Pleasure-Way’s web site yet, but trust us… it’s coming!

First off; thank you for putting the time into developing such an informative website! It’s become a resource to check when we are looking for various mods and such; nice work.
We are two months into owning one of these, it’s our 4th RV at this point and I can finally say I think we found the ‘Goldilocks’ of RV’s (i.e. no more scouring the intra-webs for the Next Best Thing…) so it’s great to see a little mini review on it here. It’s a fantastic vehicle, so well built (as all PW stuff seems to be) and surprisingly roomy for it’s sub 23′ length. Plus the clearance is great, a necessity when your main goal in RV’ing is to get the thing down as many questionable dirt roads as possible. Oh yeah, and it’s pretty easy to pop a few bikes in the back if the table is stored away…

Does anyone know the measurements on the twin beds? My husband is 6’1 so we were hoping for 72-78 inches long. Making it a king is great but we prefer to sleep the old fashioned twin beds way. Any info would be fantastic, thanks for your time!!
According to the Pleasure-Way web site: 29 inches W X 74 inches L
Just saw a Pleasure Way at a dealer near Atlanta with a slide (rear twin bed model) Plateau XL? Great looking unit. Why no information on line?
I wasn’t aware Pleasure-Way made models with a slide.
Because they don’t make one with a slide.
Did I see a small sleeping area over the front cab? We may occasionally bring a small child and really like that this has such open feel and large outdoor storage. Also like that behind the driver there is a small work space so it isn’t as cramped as some B models. Really like this unit, and really enjoy all the Fit RV videos!

There’s no over cab sleeping that we saw – unless they added that option later. We also like it when there’s not a bathroom right behind the driver’s seat!
Great video. Did you happen to notice the Occupant & Cargo Carrying Capacity label?
Sorry – we did not.
As the vehicle we saw was likely the first one, or perhaps even a prototype, it might not be representative of the final production vehicles anyway.
In general though, Pleasure-Way doesn’t overload their chassis – they don’t extend past the natural rear of the Sprinter, and they don’t use slides. OCCC is likely to be very good.
Where can I purchase a cover for my 2014 B+ Pleasure Way Pursuit Model?
I think ADCO makes covers for most motorhomes. I’d try them.
When will this unit be in showrooms?
We don’t have that information. Sorry!
Is there room for a bike or two?
Inside? Might be tricky. You might be able to get a couple in the back for transport if you take the table down. But you wouldn’t want to sleep with them in there, unless you like getting chain grease on yourself when you get up in the night…
A rack would be an option here. Not for our high dollar race bikes, but other, more pedestrian bikes could be transported on a rack.

The refrigerator is an absorption fridge – no compressor. Didn’t check for seatbelts in back, or measure the rig. Sorry!
The rig is the same length as the standard 170″ 3500 Sprinter van, 22′ 9″ I believe. Both Plateau XL models are the exact same size.
Ahhhhh. I should have known that. Pleasure-Way doesn’t blow out past the rear of the sprinter chassis. So yes, the length would be around 22 feet and 8 or 9 inches. Thanks!
Saw this model at a recent show and loved it except for the mini hanging wardrobe. Way too short to hang much because of electronic equipment taking up space at top of cabinet. Hinged flooring of cabinet just draws attention to problem. Who wants to open it and let shirts dangle on their feet when sleeping?
We don’t usually hit the road with hanging clothes, so that one slipped by my radar. We’d probably install shelves in such a cabinet.
You mentioned Li ion batteries; for coach? How many ah? Refer same Nova Cool compressor as in TRAVATO, right? Is solar option ZAMP multiport? Since genset dependent on propane, how many gallons? I know I could look this up on their website, but wanted to thank you for the review.Tow 5000#, 500# tongue? Wieght must be in 13k range? MSRP for well appointed?
This one isn’t on their website yet! So I don’t have complete specs. But I can give you a couple answers.
Lithium-Ion for Pleasure-Way is typically two 100AH batteries.
Solar power would be a Go-Power system.
I don’t believe the fridge is a compressor fridge, is it? They’re usually Dometic absorption.
Propane is likely the same size as the original Plateau XL – 18 gallons.
Pricing at the Florida RV show I believe was somewhere in the $133K range, but would expect similar to the original Plateau XL.

What a terrific little B+. I am always impressed with PW and their continuing innovations like those front work stations.
Do those single beds have the ability to expand out to a single large bed (like the RT Zion)?

Yes, there is an insert to create one large bed. You can see the supports between the twins in the video.
And of course, this one will come with all the standard Pleasure-Way innovations like lithium ion batteries, the super cool tv antenna, etc!

Any idea how 4-season worthy this Pleasure Way is? … and did you happen to notice if it had accommodations for adding solar?
Didn’t pull apart any cabinets or go underneath on this one, so I can’t comment on the 4 season capability.
But Pleasure-Way has a solar option, and there would be plenty of room on the roof for the panels, so yes on the solar.
The same solar options apply to this Plateau XL TD as the original Plateau XL – up to 3 panels from the factory for a total of 285W.
They are not designed for 4 season RVing – they must be winterized, the same as all other PWs.

I have a question on this unit. In the sleeping area , do the beds come together using anything to increase the width of the sleeping area? Other than that the unit looks sweet and big enough for my bride of 40 years and our rather small dog, he’s a registered and certified Bernese Mountain Dog a bit more than 107 pounds. He needs a place to sleep and at home he enjoys hogging the entire King sized bed and to tell you the truth…I’m just to darn old to sleep on the floor. Fantastic review folks and be sure to have a fantastic New Year. Be sure to hug your dog or cat everyday!
Yes, the beds do come together. You can see the support rails for the center supports in between the beds in the back!

I thought I saw rails on the sides below the seating cushions. This unit will be included to my short list as I think it will work for the bride and Hans our therapy dog as it has a real nice open floor plan for the DW Sharon and our Hans!
