Poll: Brown’s lead shrinks in Massachusetts Senate race

{mosads}It was conducted this past weekend, from Sept. 7-9, just days after Warren gave a prime-time speech at the convention. Though her speech received mixed reviews, this new poll seems to indicate she might have gained an advantage from the high-profile event. Warren gained 2 percentage points’ support since the last Kimball poll.

Brown did not speak at the Republican convention, in Tampa, Fla., due to what his campaign said was a scheduling conflict with his service as a National Guard officer, and his support dropped by 3 percentage points.

However, both candidates remain well-liked in the state, each topping 50 percent favorability.

In contrast to the Senate race, the presidential race seems like a done deal in Massachusetts — a full 55 percent of voters say they’ll be supporting President Obama, compared to only 39 percent for Mitt Romney.

The poll was conducted among 756 likely voters statewide from Sept. 7-9, and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
