Come join us @ LCHS to see the Partial solar eclipse August 21st, 2017 Begins: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 10:21 am Maximum: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 11:44 am Ends: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 1:11 pm Location: LCHS-Concrete patio behind the library You are welcome to bring camping chair, sitting pad, blanket, and/or snacks. Click here for the downloadable PDF Solar Eclipse Flyer (updated 8.9.17) Please note that all of the following statements about viewing the eclipse are made with two assumptions: (1) clear sky- “weather permitting”, and (2) you MUST use special eye protection to look at the sun whenever it is not totally eclipse! It is NOT a total eclipse in Colorado. 500 pairs (enough for everyone who joins us!) of eclipse glasses will be available for you to borrow for this event at the High School — provided by Mobile Earth and Space Observatory, MESO. (MESO is a program from the National Space Science and Technology Institute, NSSTA, a non-profit educational organization based in Colorado Springs.)
