In this case, it would be more appropriate if I said, the first time you see the video. Because, when the song first came out it was inseparable from the video and Michael Stipes' uninhibited, freestyle dance in it. The "Ooooo" vocalization (not exactly a yoddle, is it?) is specially cool. Lesser singers would struggle not to sound silly singing this piece.
