While David Bowie was much praised for his music, he was also a talented actor who brought a special kind of magic to all his roles—from Catherine Deneuve's millennia-old boy-toy in The Hunger to a funky slacker alien The Man to Fell to Earth.

Those of us who grew up in the 80s, though, have a special soft spot for Labyrinth, the Jim Henson-directed fantasy starring Bowie as the legendary Goblin King, Jareth.

Now, as Labyrinth celebrates its 30th anniversary, the film is returning to theaters, courtesy of Fathom Events.

Jennifer Connelly got her big break as Sarah, the 15-year-old girl who rashly asks for her baby brother to be taken away.

But when her wish comes true, she must face a daunting gauntlet to rescue him from Jareth's machinations.

USA Today reports the version shown by Fathom will include exclusive content. (PLEASE let it be deleted scenes.)

Produced by George Lucas and scripted by Monty Python's Terry Jones, the film will also receive a special 30th anniversary edition Blu-ray, DVD and 4K Ultra HD on September 20.

The new Blue-ray includes a making-of documentary and commentary by designer Brian Froud, as well as a 24-page "digibook" with rare behind-the-scenes photos, and a vignette including Connelly and the Henson family discussing Jim Henson's puppetry and filmmaking.

In honor of Bowie, who passed away in January at age 69, the home release also features Connelly and Henson's children paying tribute to the Grammy winner.

Amazon will also sell a limited-edition Labyrinth Blu-ray gift set with "mirrorbox" packaging, based on the final scene from the movie.
