The Gaze | ViewPoint Gallery

If ViewPoint Gallery in Halifax is now best known as an official artist-run co-operative for fine art photographers, it was originally a joint project between a small group of Nova Scotian photographers and printmakers in search for a place to exhibit their work in the year 2000.

As a result of a massive decline in printmaker members, the gallery shifted its focus to promoting fine art photography exclusively. Precisely, the current goal is to nurture and support the artistic passion uniting all members - photography - alongside exhibiting and marketing the work produced. Over the years, ViewPoint Gallery has hosted over 140 solo, group and guest exhibitions.

Situated in the near center of Halifax's busy downtown, ViewPoint Gallery benefits from a street-level, storefront location. Currently showing at the gallery is "Exposure Time," a guest group show, running until September 25th.
