Hall & Oates announce summer tour dates for 2016

The band “who you think of fifth, or maybe eighth” when considering 1970s harmonic duos, Hall & Oates, have revealed their summer tour schedule. Daryl Hall and John Oates are currently wrapping up a set of winter dates, so they tapped fellow (fictional) soft rockers Blue Jean Committee to help make the announcement.

“What do you think of when you think of the Seventies? When you think of beautiful harmonies, you think of a duo who sing together to make hit songs. You think of the Blue Jean Committee and that’s who we are,” Gene Allen (Fred Armisen) says to open the announcement video. “Do you know who used to open for us, and we used to kick around? Daryl Hall! John Oates!” laments Clark Honus (Bill Hader), adding that their former tourmates left them in the dust once they hit it big. “That was a real Philly thing to do, I think,” he opines. “Real Philly thing to do…”

While you can catch the story of Blue Jean Committee on IFC’s Documentary Now!, you can see Philly rockers Hall & Oates when they kick off their summer trek on May 13th in Dallas. They’ll head clockwise around the country before winding up in Las Vegas on September 23rd, and they’ll be bringing openers Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue along for the ride. Find the complete itinerary below, followed by the announcement video.
