Uday Narzary alias Khilikhang, a self-styled platoon commander of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland NDFB(S), who was wanted by the NIA in connection with the massacre of adivasi settlers in Chirang district in December 2014, was killed in a joint operation of the Assam Police and Army in the wee hours of Monday.

Narzary was ‘eliminated’ when the police and army laid an ambush in an area near Edenbari village in Chirang district on Sunday night on the basis of specific inputs about his presence in that area, Guwahati-based defence PRO Lt Col Suneet Newton said.
