Gas attendant robbed at knifepoint in Manchester

MANCHESTER - A man robbed a gas station attendant on Saturday night and fled with about $1,500 in cash and a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge cellphone, township police said in a news release.

The man used a large knife to rob the Gulf station at 100 Lacey Road in the township's Whiting section about 10 p.m., police said. The suspect allegedly placed the knife by the gas attendant's abdomen, took the money and the phone and then fled on foot.

The robber was described as a black man about 30 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build, a mustache and beard, and wearing a blue and yellow hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Manchester authorities are seeking the public's help to identify the robber. The case is being investigated by Manchester Police Detective David Fusaro at 732-657-2009, ext. 4208. Anonymous tips can be submitted online at www.manchesterpolicenj.com or through the Police Department's Facebook page.
