CHARLOTTE – The Benedict College men's cross country team finished 21
st, while the women finished 23
rd in a crowded and talented field at the Royals Cross Country Challenge at McAlpine Creek and hosted by Queen's University.
The men's team was led by
Ediberto Crisanto, who ran a lifetime best time of 26:58 in the 8K run, finishing 120
th overall. His time is the fastest in the SIAC this week. He was followed by freshman
Stephan Richardson with a lifetime best time of 28:47.
Noah Prevard also ran his lifetime best of 29:20. He was followed by
Alvaro Perdomo, who clocked 29:53 and
Simon Gyllensten, who ran a lifetime best time of 30:28.
Geovanni West finished with a time 30:54.
The women's team was led by
Jenella John, who ran a season best time of 21:30. She was followed by
Astacia Watkins, who ran a season best time of 22:06.
Phoebe Johnson ran a lifetime best time of 22:57, while senior
Stephanie Rhoden cloicked a season best time of 23:25.
Ruddesha Strachan also ran a season best time of 23:30.
The men's and women's cross country teams will compete in the SIAC Championship next Sunday, which will be held at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C.
