Eamonn Walker has signed up for a lead role in NBC fantasy pilot 17th Precinct.
The project, from Battlestar Galactica's Ron Moore, will focus on a team of cops investigating magical crimes in the fictional town of Excelsior.
Deadline reports that Walker will play Detective Chief Inspector Wilder Blanks, appearing alongside the previously-cast Jamie Bamber and Stockard Channing.
The actor recently starred in axed ABC legal drama The Whole Truth and also appeared alongside Doctor Who star Matt Smith in BBC crime drama Moses Jones.
The 17th Precinct pilot is currently in contention for NBC's 2011-12 television season.
