Update – Armed robberies, Sunny bank Hills and Acacia Ridge

Police have charged a 19-year-old Acacia Ridge man in relation to two armed robberies this week.

At around 3.30am on June 12 it is alleged that he entered a convenience store on Gowan Road and demanded money and cigarettes.

He allegedly threatened the male attendant, gesturing that he was armed with a weapon under his jumper, before leaving the store with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

At 9:45am on June 14, it is alleged that the man entered a take away food store on Oxley Street, Acacia Ridge and threatened the female owner with a handgun, believed to be a replica, before demanding money.

The man left the premises on foot empty-handed.

He has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and enter premises with intent and appeared in the Richlands Magistrate Court this morning.

He will reappear on July 2.
